Peter Brook, 1925‑2022

Peter blazed light through the heart of theatre and passed tranquilly through his life kicking open doors.

He found his own inimitable way of welding together those incompatible energies of theatre- the need to share in the spirit, and the need to put on a show.

He was a close friend to us both and saw us both through many difficult and joyful times; without him there would have been no inspiration for Cheek by Jowl. He was unique and alone. His work will live on through memory and through his writing. He is not an Everest to intimidate but a guide along a path of wonders.
