Looking back at Fuenteovejuna

On the eve of the premiere of Life is a Dream, we’re looking back at Declan and Nick’s previous exploration of the Spanish Golden Age – Fuenteovejuna.

Lope de Vega’s drama about community and resistance was staged by Declan and Nick in the Cottlesloe auditorium of the National Theatre in London in January 1989. It was revived in May 1992, and was then invited to perform in his namesake theatre, the Teatro Lope de Vega in Seville that August.

We are thrilled to return to that theatre, 30 years later, to open Life is a Dream.
