An update on Cheek by Jowl’s Arts Council status

Like many other organisations up and down the country, we recently learned that we will be excluded from receiving funding from ACE as part of their 2023 – 2026 portfolio.

This is saddening as some of our most important work was created as a part of ACE’s portfolio, and we are grateful for that support.

This will not change our commitment to creating work with an international outlook, championing intercultural collaboration across different languages and countries. Building bridges is at our core as a company and as artists and we will continue to do that as energetically as we can in the future. We hope we can count on your continued support as we strive to create the best work we can in our productions, podcasts and workshops.

Our congratulations and very best wishes go to all those companies who are joining the portfolio – and we deeply sympathise with the many excellent companies and artists who have been excluded in this round as a result of the Government’s new policy.
